This is my second Chinese Wedding I've ever done. Taken this morning. Very tiring. It's not the same as doing a Malay wedding. Excitements are always around and it's fun to work but STILL, it's damn tiring...I can't feel my legs.

As I said before, my tripod broke and now handling it with my knees. I really need to stop torturing my tripods. Need a better one and I'm expecting one sometime soon.

You know how you meet acquaintances at a wedding, videographers or photographers. Well, here I met Devin Kho once again. Friendly guy to work with, recommended photographer. Check out www.devinkho.com

My sound man Akhbar decided to join me on this event because he wanted to experience the inner world of Chinese Weddings. He's my official Sound-man who has the ear of an elephant. Haha.

Here I was a few days ago doing another session of documentary coverage at the Water Village in ‘Kg Bolkiah’ with Ritma Picturesque Production. Blah..blah..blah… and got sunburned over the face and luckily wasn’t that bad. I get these rashes and skin pilling problems if I stayed too long. Why? Because I’m white! And yes, ‘Orang Putih nda tahan panas’ as you say, for you ‘MELAYU’S’ who doubt me. Doesn’t sound nice now does it??

I only want to state one thing: Water Taxis are rip-offs. I was a tour guide for at least a year and a half and I obviously know how much it would cost for certain destinations. For locals, or residents of the water village, it should be cheap. BUT, what about locals from land? Does it have to be expensive? Are we like NOT Bruneian enough?? Do I need to wear a Ski mask to prevent from sun?

It doesn’t seem fair at all. The boat driver totally ripped us off for $40.00 2 ways. The distant to the venue only took like 2 minutes IF he had speed up abit. Instead, it took ages to get there. Slowing down the boat doesn’t mean we were renting it long now does it?

It’s really offensive. As for I, I know why they’d charge dreadfully expensive. It’s because I look like a foreigner to them. I understand. But I WAS, on a boat with 3 other locals and for more extreme details, they spoke 101% of fluent malay, they say words such as ‘buleh…’ and ‘kali ahh..’ and lastly, they’re brown. They look entirely local.

I believe I’ve said it clearly for you to understand the above title mention and here I’m laughing my ass off hysterically in such a way that I’ll be looking forward for this to happen. It hasn’t been said that I’ve receive a couple of slots for ‘Visions13’ to be playing sometime in July and possibly the 1st week of June. Whether I’m free or not, I’m not quite sure. But I do know that my drummer Paul has offered to come and play in Jerudong.

I have yet to search for a talented bass player who shall be under my command, playing something ‘it’ likes as if I was thinking it was a dog which I could easily feed with doggy biscuits and telling it to sit or roll over whenever I want to without hesitating on what he shall wear or act because my previous bass player had no clue whatsoever it is to be performing infront of crowds.

Excellent application to follow up on your favorite people.

You wanna be a DJ? You go here.

Lately, I’ve been watching ‘Family Guy’ series and I have to say, I’m beginning to like it very much. It’s incredibly brilliant and hilarious. I’m starting to enjoy ‘Stewie Griffin’, the baby’s character who initially wants to kill his own mother ever since he was released from her womb.

Other than that, the ideal story was entertaining. That includes my old time favorite ‘South Park’. There are always forceful cursing words and toilet humors that made everything funny. As for Family Guy, it’s absolutely worth the laugh by the minute. Obviously, most cartoon series are always cracked up by a split second.

So I bought a couple of seasons the first time and one thing led to another, I’m buying them all. From censored to un-censored and footages never before seen on TV.

My 3 days with ‘Ritma Picturesque Production’ of hard acknowledgeable assignment has slipped out the backdoor into a tremendous accomplishment. It was entirely fun and stimulating but utterly throbbing to be editing something which doesn’t belong to me. Although, I had the chance to make it briefly satisfying with the directors, sitting down and exploring with Final Cut Pro has made a huge impact towards my editing skills. It popped out from nowhere.

It has absolute power. Most of the features were incredibly amazing compared to my editing suite, Adobe Premiere Pro. Besides, shooting with a HD camcorder brought me up this new feeling in filmmaking. I felt so new and big. DAMMNNN!!! Hahaha… I guess, my point is, I love new things.

The documentary called ‘Kemana Kitani?’ was quite unusual compared with others. It had the Malaysian touch. Haha. I’m not saying it is but it looked like one if you know what I mean.

Basically, working with ‘Ritma Picturesque Production’ was great. The crews were fun it was definitely the kind of production house I’d wanna work with when comes to something like this. They even suggested me whether I wanted to sell them ‘The Jo & Jul show’, as in writing & directing a season of 15 episodes. The managers loved the ideas which are still under my sleeves and confidential to be blogging about.

… involved with a new production house called ‘RITMA PICTURESQUE PRODUCTION’ and as their videographer and editor, I’m shooting a brand new documentary episode called ‘Kemana Kitani?’.

It’s quite interesting as I’ve been teaming up with them yesterday and was fully incharge of what I was supposed to do. Meaning to say, I’m also directing most of my angle shots frequently by creating something unique to be previewed. But most of all, I’m enjoying to be using their brand new Sony HVR V1 camcorder which I think; I’m falling in love with. HD is fuckin’ rad! Now, I gravely can’t wait own one myself.

And as for editing, I’ll be using Apple’s Final Cut Pro. It’s similar with Window’s Adobe Premiere Pro but the only thing I was stressing and bitchin’ about is the shortcut keys which I have to identify each and every one of them in order to make my editing smooth and comfortable. But seeing myself performing in these excellent gadgets made me even more vicious and insanely horny. I just wanted them for mysel. Shoot with HD and edit with FCP? It’s like an every filmmaker’s dream. Haha… There’s no way I’ll be shooting in standard definition no more!

Basically, I’ll be on duty up to Thursday before delivering the product to RTB and I’ve only just started yesterday shooting a night scene. I have 1 and a half day’s of shooting and another 1 and a half day’s of editing. The duration of the show with both opening and closing credits are 25-30 minutes long.

Damn, it’s 8am already. Gotta take a shower and leave home to studio. Will post some pictures soon.

…has been pretty damn boring for me and there’s nothing much exhilarating than shooting my new film. This week may be last preparation for it and already packing for this next journey, into a house creating a total massacre. Paul Bokhari will also be starring as a part of my tease to you.

Confirmed cast has been appointed to be included in this project and I too will be involved in an atypical role for entertainment. Haha. (I’m full of boredom)

Other than that, I’m beginning to wonder how absolute superb to be owning one of those high definition camcorders for myself one of these days. I just love how it produces the amazing picture. Obviously, IT DOES. Duh! Comparing to want I have now, it’s far out brilliant. Gee…and too pricy. I have marked a precise one for my future of filmmaking but it’ll take ages before I could have it in my hands. It’s a digital filmmaker’s dream.

What? ‘Jo & Jul’? Yes, wait. Sabar. Coming. Actors are busy, I’m waiting for them. Can’t force me if you had the chance. Haha. Just joking, ‘jangan-mental’.

Latest movie I’ve watched? ‘My Bloody Valentine 3D’, ‘Turistas’ & I’m starting to watch season one of ‘Family Guy’ (Cartoon). Hilarious I tell you. If you like ‘South Park’, you’ll certainly worship this.

Everyday, waking up at noon is now a complete habit. Once again. It came back oh yes, it did. The Adam Groves habit. The ritual has begun. It’s not something I’m proud of but I’m bored as hell. Oh, and I’m beginning to enjoy listening to ‘The Click Five’ after watching a film called ‘Taking 5’ with their presence. Good stuff. It’s about these 2 girls who’ve decided to kidnap this so called boyband to perform for their school so that they won’t be known for becoming total losers. Blahh blahh, not important, you don’t wanna know. It’s a high-school thing.

Swine Flu. Yes, about that, I’ve been reading a lot about it lately on BBC. Just less curious and more terrified. After understanding the vigilance on the following subject, it concerns me more when viewing the world map on which countries are infected. But then again, the more I read, the less I’m afraid nor panicking due to certain explanations. Whatever, just boredom talks with true facts.

ERGHH! I’m gonna watch a movie which I’ve already have for the 9th time.

Brunei Quarantines 200 Over Swine Flu Fears

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei's Ministry of Health yesterday quarantined some 200 passengers over fears that they might be infected with the H1N1 virus that has killed scores in Mexico and has infected over 1,000 people across the world.
In a hastily called press conference last night, officials from the Health Ministry and the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) told reporters that all passengers on board a chartered flight that arrived here from the United Kingdom have been quarantined at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong after three of them were found to have body temperature slightly above normal when they were scanned at the Brunei International Airport on arrival.

"Following our surveillance at the airport this (yesterday) evening, we've identified three passengers from a chartered flight from the UK with a high risk of H1N1 infection," the Director
General of Health Services told reporters.

"So far, the three passengers have been tested and showed negative for influenza 'A'. However, as a precaution, we have sent them for isolation," Dr Rahmah Md Said said.

According to the Director General, all the passengers on board the flight had a travel history of being in countries where the infection had already spread, so every precautionary effort is being taken.

"I'd like to stress at this point, the signs of H1N1 infection is similar to any flu infection for other strains. So we are taking extra precautions because we cannot differentiate whether this is seasonal flu or H1N1 without having a definite lab test," explained Dr Rahmah.

According to the officials, the samples have been sent to the Brunei's designated reference regulatory for verification and final testing.

The passengers will be quarantined for 10 days, officials said, "and if found positive for H1N1, they will be treated here", they added.

The number of swine flu victims in the world topped the 1,000 mark on Monday as the UN's most senior health official warned that a second wave of the virus could be far worse, AFP reported.

As Mexico, the epicentre of the outbreak, prepared for the reopening of restaurants and businesses shuttered by the A (H1N1) virus, the number of affected countries climbed once again.

Mexico raised its confirmed swine flu toll to 26 deaths on Monday, but said the epidemic appeared to be slowing. The previous toll, given late Sunday, was 22 dead and 568 infected. The sense of alarm however arew in Britain when it emerged that another seven people who had not been to Mexico had the virus.

World Health Organisation chief Margaret Chan told UN officials in New York that despite the continued spread it was not yet time to declare a pandemic.

"There are now 1,003 confirmed cases of H1N1 in 20 countries. We don't know how long we have till we move to phase six. Six indicates we are in a pandemic. We are not there vet." -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin

I was watching this cool English film moments ago when all the sudden, it gave me a complete shocking tempered nerve and insufferable dilemma. I wanted to bitch-slap that kid! Haha.. overreacting abit here.

It’s just too cruel when watching the film wholly and observing the factors which was included to make it live, you know, feeling it. It was based on true events after researching over the web.

It’s about a nursery teacher Jenny and her boyfriend Steve whom escapes for a romantic weekend away. Steve was planning to propose to her and has found an idyllic setting: a remote lake enclosed by woodlands and seemingly deserted. The couple's peace is shattered when a gang of obnoxious kids encircles their campsite. Reveling in provoking the adults, the gang steals the couple's belongings and vandalizes their car leaving them completely stranded.

When Steve confronts them, tempers flare and he suffers a shocking and violent attack. Fleeing for help, Jenny is subject to a brutal and relentless game of cat-and-mouse as she desperately tries to evade her young pursuers and find her way out of the woods.

If you like thriller/horror films, try watching this one. Recommended.

I’ve shot the first scene for ‘The Shape’ on Thursday just to have my cousin Wanie to be involved in this next horror short film. We started filming at around 9am to speed things up abit because she was also leaving the country back to England. I thought it would be nice to have her on the set as one of the victims before she leaves. It’s pretty much last minute activity to include her.

I’ve just finished editing his 3minute scene. I’m also anxious to start the following shoot in 2weeks. Most of the characters are available by then. The only dilemma now is, I’m gonna be changing a few lines from the storyboard as this scene was shoved in straight away with a one line dialogue saying ‘Azim? Is that you?!’

It means, I’ve producing 2 more characters in the story. Wanie shall be herself & Azim, another fictional character where I’m allegedly placing him somewhere in the story as the brother, in all probability.

But it doesn’t matter; it is still potential to just embrace something else right?

As I’ve counted, there will be 13 fictional characters including a survivor girl. Most likely 10 or 11 will be implicated into a death scene. I’ve been going in and out of the web trying to study some classic and excessive death scenes because I don’t want ‘The Shape’ to be just stabbing people only with a knife. I’ve managed to grab a few ideas though need to build up some gadgets to make it worth entertaining. Props that is.

Basically, the first scene shot had a cool strike but you know, I want something better.
